1868 John James Dower 's Scotland(Original Antique Map with original outline color) An ex-atlas map published by Ward, Lock & Tyler in London for Samuel Beeton. This map was included in " Beeton's Dictionary of Geography ". John Dower was active in the mid to late 19th Century and engraved for numerous publishers. Samuel O. Beeton Geography was published in London and was quite a monumental undertaking comprising over 12,000 articles with numerous maps and engravings. This was one of the few "fold-out" maps in the volume. John James Dower was heir to the more prominent London engraver and mapmaker John Crone Dower (1791-1847). Map measures 9 x 7 inches , engraved, with original outline color. VG+ condition.
