Just out of a local smoke free house is this scarce Mid Century or Modernist furniture spoon rack or holder. It was made by Walter R. Downs who apprenticed under George Nakashima in the 1950's. The spoon holder is made of walnut, has an organic form, shows signs of hand work or tool marks on the back, and holds 32 spoons.
