GILT STERLING - BACCHANALIAN - THREE PIECE BERRY SET - Circa: 1869-1870. Maker Being - HENRY JOHN LIAS. Three (3) piece set contains: HERALDIC ENGRAVED TIGERS! On verso! Presentation Case - Contains One (1) Sugar Sifter and Two (2) Berry Spoons. NEVER USED and in original presentation case The case has a missing piece of top lid molding and external wear to case ( so what?). The berry spoon bowls and upper border are engraved with process called Pricking. This engraving process was very popular in the 18th century and continued through the 19th Century. The Sugar Sifter possess hand-cut piercework! There is absolutely no wear to the Gilt- Sterling!
