Magnificent piece of history and of a way of life not very common in todays' world--large 12 inch Mappin and Webb Princes' Plate(the best of the time) meat dome--silver plate is perfect--heavy silverplate and no rub-throughs or fading plate--but look at the photos carefully and you will see three dimples--so sometimes in the last 100years or so--something made them to this wonderful piece...just for the hell of it--I tapped one of them with a cushioned ballpeen hammer head and it almost disappeared--so they obviously can be taken out of the piece if they bother you...but they really are not obtrusive--again--look at the pictures-- A wonderful piece and not one of the modern tin-types that one sees these days--this thing is all there and screams " Look at Me"--these are hard to find this size these days...first one I have had in years--except for the little ones that are more common...Certainly would make a statement and be of use as well on your dinner table for those special times... Thanks for looking and if you have any questions--please do not hesitate to ask them...Thanks again... ATTENTION: Ebay has misquoted the actual shipping costs--instead of $71 it should read $24, So if you are buying--do not pay right away--wait for me to send you a corrected invoice...Thanks
