An antique Mauchline ware sewing box with patterned corners and border. In the centre of the lid is a transfer view of Arundel Castle. The corners of the lid are decorated with Acorns, Oak leaves and other foliage; on the border, to the left and right of the castle, there is an Orchid and a Dog Rose. It has small brass hinges, and original closure and the base is covered with paper. It measures 17cm x 12cm x 5.6cm. In good condition, very clean inside; no cracks; any wear commensurate with age - some bumps/ knocks; marks on the lid; natural knot marks on the inside of the lid.
