This Antique Copper Coal Scuttle or Box features a Shipping scene, typical of the 1800s. Made of Brass over wood in England, this mantel/surround piece showcases intricate repoussé detailing, adding a touch of the ocean and ships give it a historical significance to any fireplace or room decor. The craftsmanship and design of this piece make it a unique and distinctive piece of antique furniture. Very detailed oceanic scene with sailing ships. Some marks from age and use. 16" x 11" x 11 1/4" high. Last photo shows a stain on the bottom, not a crack. I have used it to store kindling.
