1861 Georgia Currency – Ringgold – “North Western Bank of Georgia” – 6725

Original 1861 hand signed “Five Dollars” note issued by “North Western Bank of Georgia” in Ringgold. It has the hand inscribed serial number “58” with a plain back. The bank which was chartered on March 4, 1856. In November 1866, the institution was permitted to relocate to Atlanta, thus ending the issuance of notes from Ringgold. The note will be shipped in a new protective sleeve with a dated, hand signed Letter of Authenticity with a photograph of the currency above. All of the artifacts on our site are guaranteed to be original Civil War issue or as stated.
