Lovely small Antique/Vintage Theorem Stenciled Painting of a floral bouquet with pink rose and yellow tulip on cream colored background. This Folk Art Painting is signed on front and back by Aedara Michlein, Monroe, Conn. I am not completely sure of the exact name on the signature as I had a hard time making it out. The Theorem was a sophisticated form of stenciling on velvet, popular in the 19th century, and was often part of a young girl's schooling. I do not know the exact age of this piece it is signed but not dated, however it does show age to be consistent of early 1900's and came from a Connecticut Estate Sale. I have owned it for 20 some years. There is some roughness on underside of the frame and I believe the gilding has been retouched at some point. Also some minor imperfections on cream background due to the age of the velvet. Please see the condition, description, on photographs and listed above. Dimensions: 9 3/8" Tall with frame x 7 3/8" Wide w frame; frame itself is 1/2'' wide. Shipment: I use USPS Priority Mail. Returns accepted if item is not as described.
