Ancient Pottery 500 AD

Specifications

Small ancient pottery - 3" x 3". One small chip along the top rim, as shown in picture. When I purchased from an antiquities dealer 20 years, was told it was Mexican Pottery from approximately 500 AD. The reddish-brown to black burnished finish is consistent with early pottery found in regions such as Central Mexico, Oaxaca, and the Gulf Coast.
