My son researched the patent on this unique old adjustable bracket that I found cleaning out my dads shed. It was apparently invented by a B.H. Spangenberg of Germantown, Philadelphia county, Pa. It’s description, under the patent application of November 28, 1904, says that “ it is the principle object of the present invention to provide a support or bracket possessed of the required adjustments for adapting it to such uses as have been indicated ( in the previous paragraph-“articles which are fitted with pipe connections and require independent support”), as well as to many others.” Pretty fancy language for an adjustable bracket.
