Original Antique Mitchell Map ca.1868-1878 Argentine Confederation, Chili, Paraguay & Uruguay The Argentine Confederation was a political entity in South America that existed from 1831 to 1852. It was the last predecessor state to modern Argentina, and its name is still one of the country's official names. The confederation included the provinces of Córdoba, Entre Ríos, and Paraná, with Paraná as its capital. During this time, the provinces were organized as a confederation without a head of state, and the governor of Buenos Aires Province managed foreign relations.
