Please see photos for condition - it does have some discoloration and wear from age but is in overall good shape. The plate measures just over 5 1/4" across. Antique Raphael Tuck & Sons papier-mache plate from the 'Artistic Series' (Series 39). This Victorian-era decorative piece features a central portrait of a young boy in Renaissance-style attire, including a feathered hat and ruff collar. The dark green border is elegantly decorated with gilded lithograph details of birds, grapevines, and floral motifs. A rare example of late 19th-century ephemeral decorative arts, the reverse bears the distinctive Raphael Tuck & Sons 'Artistic Series' easel and palette trademark.
