Antique 19th Century Indian solid silver zoomorphic silver lidded jug, of very unusual shape which is partially based on the classical Askos jug, native to ancient Greece. Standing on four cast and chased bird feet, the neck, body and handle are deeply chased with scrolling flower and leaf motifs inspired by the flowers and leaves of the coriander plant.
