For trunks or chests where only one handle is required. --This handle is new stock and very suitable for handle replacements on Antique Trunks or newly built Chests--Included in this purchase are the following: One russet leather strap cut from cowhide 1 1/4" wide by 8 1/2" inches long by 3/16" and very sturdy-- Two metal strap ends with coat of primer and a finish coat of hammered black enamel. Eight 1-1/4" long cut nails --you can use two nails per end to fasten the leather to the trunk. Nails are to be placed under the position of the metal strap ends in a vertical position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. nine 3/4" brass plated split end tacks to fasten the metal strap ends. The handle measures approx. 10 1/2" metal end to metal end with the handle loop but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit. ******If you require two handles per trunk or chest you can purchase those in another auction item in my listing. Leather comes in black and russet color.
