This is a completed, unused, Victorian wool.needlepoint, flat seat cover pattern for a parlor chair. The stitching is masterly -- even, neat and full. The material is 100% wool on burlap. The central tableau, set in a light blue background, is beige with a pink rose, rosebud and foliage pattern accented with burgundy and dark green, highlighted with pale yellow, and outlined by thin, elegant, French curves in burgundy and pale yellow. The piece is in very good condition -- clean, vivid, and with no thinning or damage. The burlap is strong, but the margin is narrow (0.5") on one edge. The finished needlepoint portion measures 22" x 27"...
