An antique Victorian solid sterling silver fleam case for bloodletting surgeons or doctors tools. Of tapered form with hinged lid, engine turned pattern all over with engraved cartouche to front W.G. Humphreys. In good overall condition with slightly wobbly hinge, catch needs adjusting and wear and marks all over, no splits, tools not present. Hallmarked London, 1865 with indistinct makers mark. 6.2cm x 2.8cm x 0.7cm, 13.5g.
