The vibrant gold with red and yellow stripes as well as the character from normal wear make this trunk attractive from any angle. This would be a great coffee table, end table or prop. The exterior of the trunk is a golden water resistant hard treated fabric over wood. The enclosure edges are lined with a brass plated tongue and groove rail. The corners are wrapped in leather with brass nails and brass plated trunk corners. The exterior is secured with Eagle Lock Company brass plated locking and non-locking draw bolts (NO KEY INCLUDED). The handle and strap handle are made of leather. The strap handle is stamped with 29 62. The interior of the trunk is also in great condition for it's age. The hardware shows little wear with a small amount of oxidation on a few rivets. The interior ribbed cloth liner has some minor discoloration and one small hole worn in the front of the accessory box. 6 wood hangers, a mid case support bar, a shoe cover and an accessory box are included in the interior. The age was estimated based on the presence of Snaps from the United-Carr Fastener Company. United-Carr Fastener Company started manufacturing the snaps in 1928. This item is original and intentionally not cleaned or refurbished. Allowing the buyer to make the decision of the desired final look.
