Handcrafted Custom Steamer Trunk with Tray and *BONUS* Matching Hat Box ***To the person looking into the solid glass mirror, just underneath the lid of the Steamer Trunk, you are reminded of these few caring words of advice that all of us can hold true.*** (LOVE "YOURSELF" ALWAYS!) This Custom, Handmade,Steamer Trunk and matching Hat Box are both each wonderful, reimagined, examples of the iconic early 1920's era design concepts and craftsmanship. Although new, these pieces are built to outlast the hands of time. The materials used and constructive practices are equal to if not better than they're original style counter parts. Now the list of materials used to create both of these amazing pieces. The Steamer Trunk is made from solid AAA grade Canadian Maple and Cedar. The Hat Box is made from AAA grade solid Maple with solid Bamboo accents on the side exterior wall sections. The tray inside the Steamer Trunk is made from solid Cedar. The wheels underneath the Steamer Trunk are also made from solid Cedar. The entire rest of the Steamer Trunk and Hat Box are both made of solid Maple. *(The small accent pieces on the sides of the Hat Box are made of solid Bamboo. I needed the accent pieces only on the sides of the Hat Box to bend with the shape of the Hat Box itself.)* The Steamer Trunk lid is water falled on the front edge and the back edge. The Steamer Trunk lid is also slightly arched across the top from the front to the back. The exterior walls and exterior bottom sections of both the Steamer Trunk and Hat Box are wrapped in a cotton blend fabric that pays tribute to the Steamer Trunk's geographical place of origin. The Steamer Trunk lid and the strips of wood that wrap the exterior walls and bottom section of the Steamer Trunk are hand engraved and hand painted. The two divided lid sections of the Hat Box are hand engraved and hand painted. Each leaf and flower are individually hand painted with non toxic craft paint with a blend of different colors. Three different colors and types of brass buttons adorn both the exterior and interior of both the trunk and the hat box. The trunk's wheel casters are solid brass. ***(The Wheels themselves are solid Cedar)*** The Steamer Trunk lid has two brass hinges that lock the lid in the upright position. The Steamer Trunk lid has one solid brass hinge that extends the entire length of the back wall section for maximum lid support. Underneath the interior section of the Steamer Trunk lid is a solid glass mirror accented with diamond black velvet fabric. A secret, hidden, storage space is lovingly tucked gently behind the solid glass mirror for small personal storage. Just above the glass mirror is a small, USB rechargeable light attached only by simple velcro for easy removal and replacement. The USB rechargeable light is easily capable of guiding the way to all the treasures that may be placed within the Steamer Trunk, even if tucked away in a dark attic. The Steamer Trunk interior lid, wall sections, and floor are all lined with a total of 32' linear feet of 1"x12" hardwood flooring, solid foam underlayment. The Steamer Trunk tray with an adjustable brass hinged strap, is wrapped in a beautiful gray and white Sherpa fabric. The Steamer Trunk lid, interior wall sections, and interior floor section are all accented with gray and white Sherpa fabric. The Hat Box has it's interior wall sections wrapped with gray and white Sherpa fabric. The Pink cotton fabric wraps the majority of the interior sections of both the Steamer Trunk and the Hat Box as shown in the pictures. A little more than one hundred and ninety six hours total are put into the creation of these two beautiful replications of history. Please note that I am the creator of both the Steamer Trunk and Hat Box. I have priced these two pieces well below market resale value in hopes that the Steamer Trunk and Hat Box will find a new owner that will appreciate the craftsmanship and time invested into they're creation. I will be donating ten percent of the proceeds from the final sell price to the Smoky Mountain Childrens Home orphanage located in Sevierville TN. Formerly known as The Church of God Home for Children. This is where I was fortunate enough to find my passion for wood working and given the opportunity to create my first beautiful pieces such as these. The Steamer Trunk and Hat Box were each created without formal plans. The Steamer Trunk and Hat Box were made completely from my own original vision, original design ideas, and will remain forever the only two pieces like this I will ever make. The new owner of the Steamer Trunk and Hat Box will also receive the small hammer that was used to make both of the pieces. This Steamer Trunk and Hat Box are the only two pieces I ever made with this small hammer and I feel the small hammer belongs with the two pieces it helped to create. The Steamer Trunk and Hat Box will be shipped including the small hammer within 24 hours after receiving cleared payment. Otherwise unless cleared payment is received on a National US Holiday then it will be the day immediately following such a National US Holiday that the pieces will ship.
