Present your best items with Auctiva's FREE Scrolling Gallery.WELCOME TO MY LISTING OF THIS,SUPER QUALITY SOLID SILVER GEORGIAN WINE FUNNEL & DECANTER SALVER / TRAY BY HIGHLY COLLECTED & RENOWNED SILVERSMITHS WHO ARE, HESTER,WILLIAM & PETER BATEMAN OUT OF LONDON AND HALLMARKED & DATED FOR LONDON 1775 & 1808(Tray). WONDERFUL CONDITION GIVEN THEIR AGE. This beautiful salver measures 23.5 cm diameter and weighs a very healthy 361 grams and sits on three scrolled feet and the wonderful Hester Bateman three piece wine funnel measures,12.5 cm in height with a bowl size of 8 cm and a very healthy weight of 93.5 grams,so a total silver weight of 455.5 grams combined.The funnel consists of the bowl,spout and muslin ring which is inset to the underside of the bowl.There are surface polishing and very minimal wear marks to both piece's from their use,but certainly nothing that you wouldn't expect to see on piece's of their age and type along with general usage,remember its a very soft metal and highly polished surface so these general markings are inevitable,it also shows just a little definition loss to the chasing,but remember it is 213 years old and the funnel 246 years old,the tray also has a short,later inscription to the underside of the tray which we have pictured,the wine funnel has some rubbing to its hallmarks. This lovely funnel and decanter salver should still be classed as very good antique condition. Lovely as part of a collection,or purely as a stand alone set.
