Here we have a hard to find antique chair by J.C. Hubbard of Boston, Mass. It has a splay-leg base with a maple seat and mahogany arms, base of seat marked "J. C. Hubbard, Boston", 32 inches high, the seat is 19" wide and is 18 1/2" front to back. John C. Hubbard of Boston supplied the furniture for the renovation of the County Courthouse in Cambridge, Massachusetts, circa 1848; see Nancy Goyne Evans, [American Windsor Chairs], Hudson Hills Press, New York, 1996, page 474; also, Charles Santore, [The Windsor Style in America], Running Press, 1981, listing J.
