This particular case was made in circa 1925 - 1927 Sterling (USA maker) William B Kerr - very unusual design with the striking section of a book of matches left exposed for ease of use. The BroadAxe and three 'X's' that denote this maker can be seen along the leading edge of the case.William B Kerr Co Ltd., was acquired in 1927 so we know the piece cannot be any later than this. This case is simple plain silver case. Condition is good with only a few minor scuffs from regular use. This has a fold over flap type mechanism and is hinged. The case measures approx. 6.5cm x 4.5cm and will hold one single book of matches.
