A lovely heavy substantial silver and leather desk folder, portfolio or blotter by William Comyns and hallmarked in London in 1891. It has a heavy silver front over the dark blue leather folder which is lined with a thick water silk in pale lemon. The folder contains a pull out folder also covered in water silk and there is a pocket for papers etc behind the front cover.Size: 12 ins by 9.2 ins or 30 cms by 23 cmsDepth: 1 inch or 2.5 cmCondition: In good antique condition commensurate with age and normal usage. Good hallmarks. The liner is fresh and a lovely pale lemon and may be a replacement. There are a couple of ink blots.
