Rarely found with such appealing hand color, a superior visual example of this mid-19th century near miniature map showing a still largely territorial nation. Note the scarcity of place names west of the Mississippi river, but in particular “city of the Great Salt Lake”, “Puebla de los Angeles”, etc. Note the huge and unusual shape and size of Indian Territory.
