These handles are new stock and are very suitable for handle replacements on Antique Trunks or newly built Chests--Included in this purchase are the following: Two black leather straps cut from cowhide 1 1/4" wide by 8 1/2" inches long by 3/16" in thickness-- Four metal strap ends with coat of primer and a finish coat of hammered black enamel. Eighteen- 1-1/4" long cut steel nails to fasten the leather to the trunk. Nails are to be placed two, three or four per each end of strap under the position of the metal strap ends in a vertical position for best attachment. Form the permanent handle loop to suit before completing the nailing. Eighteen 3/4" split brass plated tacks to fasten the metal strap ends. The handles measure approx. 10 1/2" metal end to metal end with the handle loop but can be shortened by cutting a bit off of the leather strap if required to fit.
