Vintage Mallet Chestnut Turned Treenware Kitchen Woodshop Primitive This mallet needed to be cleaned and restored to an original hue and feel. It's a great item for use or display. We believe the wood to be chestnut, which is a very hard wood enabling it to be used for pounding in the kitchen or woodshop. Approximate weight and measurements: 12 oz; 12" long, the barrel is 3" at the widest part near the handle. Length of the barrel is 4 1/2"
