Condition for age as shown. WWII ID STERLING SILVER CIGARETTE CASE "US ARMY G. WARNER NICHOLAS MAJ. F. A.". Looks like he was in field artillery. Serial number on front reads 0-145604. Concave british sterling silver. He probably picked it up in england. It has 103 g silver. I'm not an expert on british silver but the cartouches look like it was made in birmingham. It has a gold wash overlay look inside, not sure. The elastic bands that hold the cigarettes in are gone, that can probably be replaced. On the front in lower left area is a small indentation, nothing to fret over. For this being over 100 years old, its pretty nice. Measures 3/4 X 3 & 3/4 X 3 & 1/2". Just remember enlarged photos or scans tend to exaggerate any flaws. I've blown this up big enough so that you can see what your buying.
